The cases

  1. 01

    How it works

Once the owner accepts, you reserve the property with one month's rent, payable within 48 hours. 30 days before move-in (immediately if move-in is sooner) you both sign the tenancy agreement by click; the deposit of 2 months' rent is due on signing. You pay the remaining rent, agreed extras and the service fee before key handover. Pay only through MUVAWAY's Stripe links, preferably by bank transfer, otherwise by card confirmed in your banking app. Keys follow the handover report and receipt of the amounts due.

  2. From 4 months

On longer stays the remaining rent is split: one half before the handover, the other mid-term. That is the owner meeting you halfway — whether it applies is stated in your contract.

  3. Receipt before keys

A bank transfer takes one to two banking days, so plan ahead. An initiated or pending payment is not confirmed receipt. Do not also pay the same amount to the owner's bank account.

  4. If you cancel

Until the tenancy agreement is signed (30 days before move-in, immediately for short-notice bookings) you cancel free of charge and get everything back. After that and before move-in the reservation is forfeited, at most 25 % of the total rent; the deposit and everything else is refunded. After move-in you can terminate with 30 days' notice, at the earliest at the end of the 31st night. In case of force majeure (travel ban, uninhabitable home, natural disaster, death or hospitalisation, with proof) you get everything back.

  5. If the owner cancels

Before signing you receive all payments back. If the owner cancels afterwards, you get everything back plus the same amount as compensation (one month's rent, at most 25 % of the total rent), paid directly by the owner within 14 days. Refunds are made within 14 days to your payment method; no service fee is charged.

  6. If the property is not as listed

If the property deviates materially from the listing at handover, you may withdraw on the spot and get everything back. Report a material defect that only shows later within 48 hours of the handover in the chat; the rent then stays with Stripe until it is resolved.

  7. The service fee

The service fee only arises with the actual key handover. If you cancel beforehand or the handover does not happen, you pay no service fee; any fee already collected is refunded.

Who receives what

  • MUVAWAY receives the payments through Stripe on the owner's behalf. The deposit stays with Stripe until the documented handover and then goes to the owner in full. Rent follows 48 hours after the handover, seven days for card payments.
  • The statutory deposit is 2 months' rent. The owner lodges it with IBAVI and provides proof. They repay the undisputed balance directly within 14 calendar days after key return, independently of IBAVI. Deductions must be quantified and evidenced.
  • Our service fee goes to MUVAWAY. The owner pays their own fee.
  • Not escrow and no rent guarantee. A transfer to the owner's Stripe balance is not yet a bank payout. Earlier agreements retain their agreed payment method.

The tenant service fee is 10 % of the total rent, plus 21 % VAT. All rates in detail
